Kenny in call to Obama over undocumented Irish
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has called on US President Barack Obama to allow undocumented Irish in the United States travel to and from Ireland, while a new immigration and citizenship system is being established.
President Obama is due to make a major announcement on immigration reform tonight.
The reform is aimed at tackling the huge amount of undocumented or “illegal” migrants in the US.
There are around 50,000 undocumented Irish people in the country.
Mr Kenny said: “I look forward to the President’s announcements very much indeed, he signalled this last March when I met him in the White House”.
